Gravity Zero (2006 - 2007)

My involvement with the concept paper and research design for Gravity Zero, the winner of Invitation-only competition for Dubai International Financial Centre, with CPG-Timothy Seow Studio, Singapore, Sept 2006 - Mar 2007.

Gravity Zero acts as a seed that unfurls according to the vantage point of the viewer. It is also response to how many buildings around us are rectilinear and instead, offers more organic forms and lines that are closely link to nature.
The inspiration came from I.M. Pei's The Gateway (Singapore) that offers a visual illusion depending on the viewing angle of the buildings. Gravity Zero also becomes a single pebble from one angle.
